We’ve created this site to provide you all the information you might need for your stay with us at The Castle. Please take a look at each section below and if you can’t find the answer to any questions you might have, feel free to call us or chat to us using the chat button at the bottom right of this site.

Getting Here

Travelling from Norwich Train Station:

  • Turn right onto Riverside road and continue for 0.6 miles following the river to your left.
  • When you come to the roundabout, take the third exit onto Ketts Hill.
  • Then take the first left and turn onto Spitalfields and continue to the end of the road.
  • Then take the first left and turn onto Spitalfields and continue to the end of the road.

The easiest way to navigate to the property is by using a navigation app or website such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, or a GPS device. Simply enter your current location as the starting point, and the destination address (The Castle, 1 Spitalfields, Norwich, NR1 4EY) as the endpoint, and the navigation system will provide you with the most up-to-date and accurate directions based on current traffic conditions..

Parking is available on a first come first served basis and we are unable to reserve spaces at the property. Please make sure you are parked within the spaces provided and that you don’t park on any double yellow lines or in restricted roadside permit parking as we have no control over any tickets issued if not within our designated spaces. You are welcome to park at the property if you arrive before our check in time of 3pm.

Breakfast is supplied in the room which consists of bread for toasting, jams & marmalade, breakfast cereals, milk and orange juice. If you are staying for more than one night additional items can be supplied during your stay. Just let us know the evening before if you need any extra supplies for the following morning.

Drinks can be purchased from the bar during our opening hours.

Check-In Information

Check-in is from 3pm

If you are arriving earlier than this please get in touch with us. If we don’t have any departing guests for the room you have booked we may be able to accommodate you.

Alternatively, you’re welcome to park at the property and leave your vehicle before check in time.

If you are likely to arrive later that 11pm please let us know.

Our regular opening hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday & Thursday – 4pm to 11pm
  • Friday – 4pm to 2am
  • Saturday – 2pm to 2am
  • Sunday – 2pm to 10pm

During these hours a member of staff will be available to check you in at the bar. 

At any other time please press the intercom at the front door and a member of our team will get you checked in.

Room Information

Our Guest WiFi is available in all rooms and public areas of the property and is free to use. You’ll find the network details and login code in your room when you check-in.

The beds will be freshly made up for your stay and there will be towels in the bathroom. Extra towels are available in the wardrobe if there are more than two guests staying in the room.

If you would like clean sheets or require clean towels during your stay please let us know and our staff will arrange this for you.

Heating

Our rooms are heated via central heating radiators / air conditioners with individual room thermostats so that you can set a comfortable level of heat for you.

Air Conditioning

All rooms are equipped with Air Conditioning which can be controlled with the remote on the wall. Please note that the Air Conditioning will only operate efficiently with all doors and windows closed. The unit is programmed to shut down if the door or windows are left open.

Each room has a small kitchen area with the following equipment:

  •  a fridge
  • microwave
  • kettle
  • toaster
  • Bosch Tassimo coffee machine

departure Information

Check-out is at 12pm.

We are usually unable to offer a later check-out time. Should you wish to leave later than mid-day please contact us beforehand. If we have guests arriving we may not be able to accommodate a later check out – but we’ll try. You’re always welcome to leave any bags with us until you’re ready to leave.

When you are ready to check out please close all windows and doors and then return your keycard by posting it through the letterbox in the front door.

Policies & Safety Information

Although we love animals, pets are now allowed in our rooms.

Our rooms are strictly NON-SMOKING rooms. Please do not smoke inside the property.

If you need to contact a member of staff outside of our opening hours, dial “0” on your room phone. You’ll be greeted with an automated service which direct you to dial “0” again to contact an on call member of staff.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE

In the event that you require urgent medical assistance, Dial: “9 999”
